As NYSC Corps members, the first thing we’re taught in camp is to sing the NYSC anthem. For some, it was easy to learn, for others, it took days to learn. But one thing we all did in camp was sing the anthem passionately One part of the anthem that some find amusing is the part that says “under the sun or in the rain”.
Well, we sing this anthem but do we actually know who composed the anthem? The name of the composer of is now late Dr Oluwole Adetiran, died at age 74. He composed the anthem in 1984 while serving as a Corps member in Oyo state and it’s being used till date. He created something that is still being used even after his demise.
So as we sing the song regularly, remember Mr Adetiran and make it a tribute to him.
